Perfect Lochside Break
“I don’t often write reviews on places I stay but I really wanted to commend the Loch Lomond Waterfront lodges on the overall experience we received from start to finish.
We arrived a couple of hours early for our stay in Mellerstein (we knew we wouldn’t be able to enter our lodge until 4pm due to extra cleaning measures being made) and the owner kindly suggested plenty of options to pass our time until our lodge was ready. The lodges own their own little beach (photos attached) where you can fish (licence purchased from village shop).
The wait was really worth it. The lodge itself was pristine. In the current climate where cleanliness is of the utmost importance, I can completely commend the cleaning staff. You could tell they hadn’t just sprayed a load of bleach around in hope it would smell clean. They had taken the time to remove every item and cleaned behind every cupboard to ensure the accommodation was as clean as it could be.
So once settled, we awaited our grocery delivery. We had complimentary tea, coffee and milk to get us started and the hot tub was ready to be used.
The layout of the property is great and spacious. Easily enough space for 6 adults, there is 3 bathrooms too.
There is a large entrance hall to keep all of your shoes and coats.
They supply you with plenty of cleaning products too (dishwasher tabs, laundry cleaner bin bags), along with salt and pepper so you don’t need to bring those with you. Lots of pots and pans to choose from too.
The actual area of Balmaha is lovely. So many walks for all ages. Conic Hill is a steep ascent to some amazing views (attached) and is located just across the road, roughly takes about 1.5-2 hours up and down.
We visited Luss for the day, a beautiful little village. We went on the Faerie trail and had lunch at Colquhouns. The Duck Bay is also well worth a stop. We used the sweeny cruises from Balloch for an hour cruise and walked around Balloch Country Park.
Unfortunately, the restaurants on the east side of the Loch are currently closed but we had a takeaway from The Oak Inn (300m from the lodges) and the food was delicious so I can imagine the pub itself would be lovely if it was open.
We currently have an ongoing list of places we would like to visit in the future and have rebooked for April next year.
Would really recommend to anyone. Thank you for having us.”
Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges
Stayed for four nights in a Diamond Lodge, it was very comfortable with absolutely everything we needed, big TV, Hot Tub, Sauna Shower, actually three showers in the one lodge! Our bedroom double doors opened on to a balcony overlooking Loch Lomond, there is even a balcony on the the back bedroom. The lodge was spotlessly clean and in lovely surroundings – we are going back again in the summer.
First class stay
Spent 3 nights in Culzean Diamond lodge with husband and two children. Wow this place is amazing! Our break started with a warm welcome. The lodge has EVERYTHING you need. Its spotlessly clean and well equipped. The hot tub and sauna are fantastic especially with the weather being so cold! The surroundings are so peaceful and the whole area is well kept. Our family loved the time together to relax and chill out! I would definitely recommend you stay – 5 star luxury
Wonderful stay at lodges
“We stayed at the lodges for a family birthday, the lodge was very clean well equipped and the hot tub was a big hit. We had or wee dog with us too and she got a wee welcome pack, such a nice touch. We would love to return, the views are stunning, the surrounding area is beautiful. The local pub is fab and within walking distance. Everyone enjoyed the 3 nights and we would love to make a return trip.”
Dog Friendly & stunning lodges
“4 adults and 3 dogs stayed Thursday 19 – Sunday 22nd March. It was stunning!
Very clean and modern with lots of space to move around in. The kitchen was excellent with plenty of storage and utensils to cook with.
3 powerful showers and a hot tub.
Staff super friendly and complementary dog treats, poo bags and tennis balls were left for us in the kitchen.
We will definitely return in the near future!”
Beautiful Loch Lomond
We had a lovely few days in these beautiful lodges just before lock down.
These lodges are large warm comfortable places to stay in beautiful Balmaha, great base with beautiful views over Loch Lomond.
The lodges are very well equipped with everything that you need for a self catering holiday, the lodge was spotless. Both bedrooms were large with en-suite facilities, downstairs bathroom with a steam cabinet, a hot tub outside ❤️ Hope to return one day soon.
Fabulous lodges in a beautiful location
“Stayed in interconnecting lodges 3 and 4 for a family celebration (9 adults and 4 children). Had a fabulous weekend. The lodges were spotlessly clean with good range of utensils. Loved the views from the bedrooms. Plenty of room for everyone. The weather was glorious which does help. Few minutes walk to loch where we did some open water swimming and the kids paddled and fished with their nets. The water is shallow for many metres making it ideal for paddles boards, kayaks etc. The oak tree inn and shop are 5 minute walk. Overall great weekend in lovely accommodation and owners very helpful.”
Amazing accommodation and views
Wow, just wow! I can’t fault this place. The lodge was excellently equipped, couldn’t think of anything extra I wished it had and was spotlessly clean. The rooms are all spacious.Best of all is the location. The views of the loch are stunning. We were in lodge number 5 which is the end lodge on the front row and I think we had the best view of the lot, although they’re all pretty good. The private sandy beach was brilliant and the water is so shallow that we had to wade out a long way to be able to swim. As you can probably guess we were utterly blessed with the weather. The only downside was that the weather was so good, it got a little bit too warm to go in the hot tub! (First world problems)
Lots to do in the local area although it is very outdoorsy so not sure what we’d have done if it’d rained.
These lodges are fairly pricey but I think they’re worth it for the outstanding quality and the view.
Fabulous location and lodges
“Had an amazing short break in these lodges with the family, lodges very well equipped with everything you need and very spacious and comfortable. The site that they are on is the real star of the show, short walk down to the loch edge just spectacular. A nice touch that the lodges in the front have grass roofs adding to the view from behind. Sort walk down to Balmaha as well. Great stay, would definitely recommend.”
Such a beautiful setting
‘Myself and my partner recently stayed in Drummond Lodge (from 21-24 Feb) and we just wanted to say thank you so much for a lovely stay. We loved our lodge, it was like a home from home, and we really didn’t want to leave! It was spotlessly clean and in such a beautiful setting. All the staff we met were really friendly. We also loved Balmaha, what a wonderful village. So thank you very much! We are the couple that took Flynn for a walk and we took this photo of him… we thought you’d appreciate a copy. Thanks once again and we hope to be back soon. ‘
A magical getaway
‘It is not at all a surprise that you are fully booked. If there is one place in the world we would like to be this summer, that place is Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges, and I’m sure the only people who don’t share this passion are those, who simply have never been there. What a magical getaway and a retreat you have created! Thank you for that.’
The Lodges are amazing
‘I would like to say that we all had an amazing time staying your lodges at the weekend. The Lodges are amazing. Beautifully presented and everything you need within. Stunning location. Muy birthday/retirement celebrations were made all the more special at this wonderful location with my friends around me.’
Outstanding
‘Chef in a lodge was outstanding. The food was excellent as was the service. Superb evening.’
Our own private beach
‘Just walking along the West Highland way path past some of the crowded beaches made us realise the value of having your own private waterfront onto the loch. I can still picture walking down to the lochside on our first evening and watching an osprey dive for a fish!’
We'll definitely be back again
‘I just wanted to thank you for such a lovely stay. The lodge was beautiful and the facilities and views amazing. We will definitely be back again.’
Right up there with the best
‘We have travelled the world and stayed in all sorts of accommodation – Loch Lomond Waterfront is right up there with the best. The facilities, quality of fixtures and fittings and the setting all add up to a superb holiday experience and one that I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. Outstanding!’
A perfect place to relax
‘Stayed at the Waterfront Lodges for a Fri to Mon short break for our daughters birthday last weekend. Lodge was placed right on the edge of Loch Lomond with stunning views.’
40th celebration
‘My husband and I came here to celebrate my 40th birthday and we truly had a magnificent time. There was everything that you needed in your accommodation even washing liquid and conditioner for the washing machine. The hot tub and steam room were a real highlight as well as the living log fire.’
Wish we had longer
‘The ducks were very amusing, each day they waddled around the lodges looking for food, we bought some duck food for them in the local village shop. We just wished we were here for longer and hope to return in the future.’
Outstanding location
‘The location is outstanding – right on the edge of Loch Lomond with private water frontage and beaches. As a location for exploring, again this rates very highly. We easily accessed central Glasgow by train from nearby Balloch and also explored Stirling (particularly the castle and Wallace memorial), the Falkirk Wheel and even Perth and Pitlochry by car. It is a very peaceful place, which can only be disturbed on occasion by your neighbours but with the Slumber Charter in place, we had absolutely no problems overnight.’
Stunning from top to bottom
‘We booked this to relax after a family tragedy and it was the perfect tonic. Stunning from top to bottom. The rooms were perfect with all the facilities needed. The hot tub on a winters evening took it to another level. The blackout curtains, allied to no light pollution outside, meant wakening up was the most natural I had experienced for years.’
My stay will never be forgotten
‘Just wanted to say a very big thank you for my wonderful stay, I have no words to describe the incredible comfort I had at the Cawdor Diamond Lodge, I just checked out today this morning from lodge 5, I do not agree that your lodge is a five star if I could I would call it a 100 star lodge. From start to finish, my stay at the lodge will never be forgotten it’s special and unique and an amazing experience’
Everything was more than perfect
‘Everything was more than perfect, more than what we can ask for. And the view priceless, the whole stay was priceless, so thank you ever so much, hope to see you soon.’
