Places to eat near Loch Lomond

If you’re looking for places to eat out near Loch Lomond, during your stay with us, there are many options. Most of the villages in this area have at least one or more local pub with dining. However, below are some of our own favourite pubs and restaurants around Loch Lomond.

The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha

A family-owned pub and restaurant looking out over the Balmaha boatyard. The Oak Tree Inn is incredibly popular with both tourists and locals and is just a two-minute walk from the lodges. A large open fireplace heats the bar throughout the winter months and during the summer customers often enjoy refreshments and dining outside in their beer garden. The Oak Tree also deliver superb Pizza’s, home baked in their traditional stone pizza oven.

This delightful restaurant, The Old Mill, nestles in the equally delightful village of Killearn which is a 20-minute drive from us at Loch Lomond Waterfront. Here you will experience exquisite cuisine in the most quaint environment. Attached to the restaurant is a pub where you can enjoy a drink after your meal. The restaurant and pub are set in an old weaving mill with the restaurant spilling into an atmospheric Yurt with its own stove. And if you are there at the right time of year you can dine alfresco in their lovely garden.

Testimonials

  • Outstanding location

'The location is outstanding - right on the edge of Loch Lomond with private water frontage and beaches. As a location for exploring, again this rates very highly. We easily accessed central Glasgow by train from nearby Balloch and also explored Stirling (particularly the castle and Wallace memorial), the Falkirk Wheel and even Perth and Pitlochry by car. It is a very peaceful place, which can only be disturbed on occasion by your neighbours but with the Slumber Charter in place, we had absolutely no problems overnight.'
