Balfron Golf Club

Tee off at Balfron Golf Club

Balfron Golf Society runs an 18-hole course, located at this golf club in a beautiful area of West Stirlingshire, just a 15-minute drive away from Loch Lomond Waterfront. The club welcomes visitors and you can book a tee time online in advance.

Course and facilities

This parkland golf course opened in 1994 with 9 holes and was extended to 18 holes in 2001. It sits on the site of a much older course, which was given up for agricultural use during World War II.

It’s a beautifully-maintained, challenging and hilly course, offering magnificent views of the Loch Lomond and Campsie Mountains. There are also practice facilities and a small clubhouse. Some catering is available and Course Rangers patrol the course, providing help and information to players.

Booking a tee time

Visitors are welcome at Balfron Golf Club and you can book a tee time online. You can also arrange to hire clubs in advance if required. Please check the fixture list for tee bookings and competition days, as there may be some restrictions. The club updates its course status each day on Twitter @balfrongolf so it’s useful to check this before visiting.

Testimonials

  • Outstanding location

'The location is outstanding - right on the edge of Loch Lomond with private water frontage and beaches. As a location for exploring, again this rates very highly. We easily accessed central Glasgow by train from nearby Balloch and also explored Stirling (particularly the castle and Wallace memorial), the Falkirk Wheel and even Perth and Pitlochry by car. It is a very peaceful place, which can only be disturbed on occasion by your neighbours but with the Slumber Charter in place, we had absolutely no problems overnight.'
  • Our own private beach

'Just walking along the West Highland way path past some of the crowded beaches made us realise the value of having your own private waterfront onto the loch.  I can still picture walking down to the lochside on our first evening and watching an osprey dive for a fish!'
  • A perfect place to relax

'Stayed at the Waterfront Lodges for a Fri to Mon short break for our daughters birthday last weekend. Lodge was placed right on the edge of Loch Lomond with stunning views.'
  • The Lodges are amazing

'I would like to say that we all had an amazing time staying your lodges at the weekend.  The Lodges are amazing.  Beautifully presented and everything you need within.  Stunning location.  Muy birthday/retirement celebrations were made all the more special at this wonderful location with my friends around me.'
  • We'll definitely be back again

'I just wanted to thank you for such a lovely stay.  The lodge was beautiful and the facilities and views amazing.  We will definitely be back again.'
